Istanbul, 21 May 2010 – The Istanbul Conference on Somalia started today in the presence of the United Nations Secretary-General, Heads of States and Governments as well as representatives of international and regional organizations. The Conference adopted the Istanbul Declaration which set out the expected outcomes and agenda on the development and recovery tracks in support of the peace process.
