Dili, 19 August 2008 – UN staff and senior Timorese Government officials joined together today to remember those who died in the bombing of UN headquarters in Baghdad five years ago.
Internally displaced persons (IDPs) began moving out of the Airport IDP camp on 7 August. With over 903 IDP families, it is one of the larger camps in Timor-Leste and is located adjacent to Presidente Nicolau Lobato International Airport in Dili.
As part of its effort to help Timor-Leste reduce the backlog of cases in the Prosecutor-General's Office and improve citizens' access to the justice system, the Government of Portugal has extended the services of eight legal clerks for one additional year.

Twenty leaders of eight different martial arts groups in Timor- Leste have finished an innovative year-long training as peace builders. The programme was conducted by Action Asia, a Cambodia-based regional peacebuilding network, and HAK Association, a Timorese human rights organization.
