Dili, 10 September 2010 – Today, the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations for Timor-Leste (DSRSG) Shigeru Mochida and Vice Prime Minister José Luís Guterres presided over the ceremony marking the resumption of primary responsibilities for the conduct of police operations by Polícia Nacional de Timor-Leste (PNTL) in Gleno, the administrative capital of the District of Ermera.
09 Sep 2010 - Dili, 9 September 2010 – Miss World New Zealand 2010, Cody Yerkovich, is in Timor-Leste to show support for the country's development. Miss Yerkovich visited Suai, Covalima District, where a Community Policing Pilot Project is being led by United Nations Police officers from New Zealand.

Dili, 7 September 2010 - Today the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations for Timor-Leste (SRSG) Ameerah Haq and Prime Minister Xanana Gusmão presided over the ceremony marking the resumption of primary responsibilities for the conduct of police operations by Polícia Nacional de Timor-Leste (PNTL) in the District of Liquica, 35 km west of Dili, the capital of Timor-Leste.
Dili, 2 September 2010 - President José Ramos-Horta today presided over a ceremony to celebrate the declaration of Oecusse as the first district in Timor-Leste to be "Free from illiteracy." The event was attended by Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General Finn Reske-Nielsen, Timorese government representatives and foreign dignitaries.
Dili, 31 August 2010 - Shigeru Mochida of Japan arrived today in Timor-Leste to assume his duties as Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General (DSRSG) for Security Sector Support and Rule of Law with the United Nations Integrated Mission in Timor-Leste (UNMIT).

Dili, 19 August 2010 - Today is the second World Humanitarian Day, the day the United Nations General Assembly has designated in tribute to humanitarian workers and the work they do.
The day also serves to honour and commemorate those aid workers who have been killed or injured in the course of their work.

Dili, 04 August 2010 - Fifty students from the Universidade Nasional Timor Lorosa'e (UNTL) were presented with certificates by the United Nations Integrated Mission in Timor-Leste (UNMIT) Police Commissioner Luis Carrilho and UNTL Rector Benjamin Corte-Real, for participating in the UNMIT-organized Democratic Governance Lecture Series. Lectures were conducted by UNMIT staff.
