    03 Dec 2012 - Dili, 30 November 2012 - The United Nations today launched a groundbreaking new multimedia website, Momentum.tl, that pays tribute to the achievements of the people of Timor-Leste since they embarked on the path of independence in 1999 and marks the departure of UN peacekeepers from Timor-Leste after 13 years.
  • Timor-Leste thanks Pakistani Police for helping secure peace
    26 Nov 2012 - Dili, 16 November 2012 – Timor-Leste will today say goodbye and thank you to police officers from Pakistan for their role in helping secure peace and building the capacity of the country's national police. Pakistan was amongst the countries contributing the largest numbers of police since the United Nations Integrated Mission in Timor-Leste (UNMIT) was set up following the 2006 crisis.

    06 Nov 2012 - Dili, 31 October 2012 – The National Police of Timor-Leste (PNTL) was today certified by the Prime Minister and Acting Special Representative of the Secretary-General, following a joint assessment by the PNTL and United Nations Integrated Mission in Timor-Leste Police (UNPOL).  
  • Civil security guards trained to protect public buildings
    16 Aug 2012 - Dili, 25 June 2012 – Unarmed civil security guards today completed the final stage of a training programme designed to help them deal effectively with security issues relating to the protection of public buildings. As part of the training, staff from the National Directorate of Security of Public Buildings (DNSEP) received self-defence instruction from French police officers.

    Dili, 26 April 2012 – The United Nations Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon selects Ameerah Haq, the head of the United Nations Integrated Mission in Timor-Leste (UNMIT), as Under-Secretary-General for the UN's Department of Field Support which services all peacekeeping and political missions.
  • UN-supported resource centres open to all presidential candidates
