Closure of UNMIT

The United Nations Integrated Mission in Timor-Leste completed its mandate on 31 December 2012. The establishment of the United Nations Integrated Mission in Timor-Leste (UNMIT) was preceded by a number of other UN operations or missions deployed in Timor-Leste beginning in 1999.

The OCHA/UNMIT Integrated Humanitarian Coordination Team (IHCT) produced hundreds of maps on different types of information such as: Location of IDP camps; Areas prone to flooding; Humanitarian presence in the Districts; Access maps, Areas of origin of IDPs, Food insecure population, Electricity coverage, etc.

A comprehensive map product showing various development and humanitarian indicators and statistics for Timor-Leste. Also includes maps at national and district levels.

United Nations Mission in Timor-Leste

The United Nations Integrated Mission in Timor-Leste (UNMIT) was established by Security Council resolution 1704 of 25 August 2006. UNMIT supported Timor-Leste’s stability, democratic governance, police and justice sector reform, and human rights.
